Shih Tsu Pet Portrait
A shih tzu (English: /ˈʃiːtsuː/; Chinese: 西施犬; pinyin: xīshī quǎn) also known as the Chrysanthemum Dog, is a toy dog breed, weighing 10 - 12 pounds when full grown, with long silky hair. The exact origins of the breed are unknown, but it is thought to have originated in Tibet and then been developed in China although various hypotheses exist.
I love painting these little guys! They have such a cute facial expression and their fur is ideal for building up nice texture. I am a bit behind in posting since I have been busy with commissions and will try to upload new work soon.
